So she went in and there was food served, Phil Vassar played and the President spoke. There was something like 1100 wives there and Nat said she even met one that cam all the way up from Florida just for this.
While Natalie was hobnobbing with the President, me and the boys went over to the Washington monument, reflecting pool, Lincoln memorial, WWII memorial and the Korea memorial. It was pretty cool, but Nat had the camera so no pictures. I also had an appointment in what turned out to be a not very good part of DC. We'll just say 5 crackers in polo shirts didn't fit in very well.
After that we stopped by Mount Vernon. It was pretty cool to see where George Washington ate his breakfasts.
All in all, it was a pretty good day.....
This is George Washington's tomb....

Looks like you guys had a great day. Nat, how neat that you were able to attend this event. I read the President's speech he gave that day and thought is was very good. Jake, you can fill me in later on the reason for your adventure to the darker side of DC. Love, Mom
P.S. You had me laughing out loud with this post!
What? Can't a guy have an appointment in the DC ghetto without the 20 questions?!
Not when "that guy" is my son!
